A 27-year-oldyoung man was stabbed and hacked to death allegedly by neighboursin Pabna over a wajmahfil in town. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon in Talbagan-Shalgariya areanear Pabna General Hospital Road in the town. The deceased Abul Kashem son of Abul Hossain of in the Talbagan-Talbagan area of the town.

Officer-in-charge of Pabna sadarpolice station Roshan Ali said that recently there was a dispute of wajmahfiland previous enmity between Abul Kasem and Samir Hossain of the same area. When Abul Kashem was passing by Samir Hossain’s house at around 2.30pm on Sunday, Samir’s father Laddu Sultan saw it and brought a knife from his house and started stabbing Abul Kashem. At this time, 7 to 8 youths led by Sameer and his father rushed and hacked Abul Kashem ndiscrimetly with sharp weapons. At one point, when Abul Kashem fell on the ground, the attackers fled from the scene. Later, the locals took him to Pabna General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

The body was recovered and sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. On Monday morning, the victim’s father, Abul Hossain, filed a murder case against two people with Pabna police station. No one was arrested.Police operations are continuing to arrest the accused.
