‘Veterinarians are essential health workers’ keeping this slogan in mind, World Veterinary Day was celebrated at Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) in Dinajpur. It was inaugurated with the initiative of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
On Monday (April 29), at 9:15 a.m., a colorful rally led by Dr. Umm-e Salma, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, was organized in front of Academic Building-3.
The rally proceeded with a campus procession and concluded at the DVM gate. Various animal pictures, posters, and placards were displayed during the rally.”
At the end of the rally, Dr. Umm-e Salma said, ‘Due to GST admission tests, we couldn’t observe the day on Saturday. However, next week, we will conduct a free medical camp and organize a seminar.’
At that time Professor Dr. S.M. Harun-ur-Rashid, Director of the Veterinary Hospital, along with faculty members, staff, and students of the Department of Microbiology, including Professor Dr. Mohammad Khaled Hossein was present.
It’s worth mentioning that, World Veterinary Day is celebrated on the last Saturday of April every year. This day has been observed since 2000, initiated by the World Veterinary Association.”
