Workshop Creating much awareness about sexual  & reproductive health rights held in Gaibandha

Speakers in a function here underscored the need for creating much awareness about sexual reproductive health right (SRHR)for all to save them from mental depression and superstition.

“IN PERSPECTIVE OF Bangladesh, the Adolescents often lack information in relation to sexual & reproductive health and . Further, they do not have access to affordable and basic reproductive health related services. Many adolescents do not feel comfortable discussing sexuality issues with parents and elderly. For not having proper knowledge on sex and reproductive health, they are to face unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases”, they said.

They came up with the comments while they were addressing a closing and collaboration workshop on SRHR) at the hall room of SKS Inn located at RadhaKrishnapur area, an outskirt of the district town on Monday.

SKS Foundation, a reputed non-government organization arranged the workshop under the project of Improving SRHR-Services of SKS Hospital and its Satellite Clinicsin  Bangladesh was implemented by the organization for the  char and river basin people of Saghataupazila with the financial support of Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Netherlands, Nuffic, CINOP, Consiglieri, SERAC-Bangladesh and SKS Foundation.

Civil Surgeon Dr. AbdullahelMafi, deputy director of Department of Youth Development Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, district education officer Rokhsana Begum,

director of Consiglieri Kamrul Hasan, Wilco Visscher,   CINOP-Netherlands and director (development programmes) of SKS Foundation SaifulAlam spoke at the function as focal persons.

More than 45 people including NGO activists, adolescents, journalists, teachers, health workers participated in the workshop.
