Two siblings died after falling into a deep well at Avirampur village under Darbasto union of Gobindaganjupazila in the district this morning.

The victims are identified as Habibur Rahman (25) and Hasan Miah (38), sons of Aftab Uddin.

Locals sources said Habibur Rahman went to the wash room in the early morning. After coming out from the washroom, Habibur fell into the unprotected deep well (water tank) and started screaming. Hearing his screaming his brother Hasan Ali and a number of close neighbors including Mintu rushed in but Hasan Ali and Mintu also fell into the well while he was trying to rescue him.

Being informed, the personnel of Fire Service and Civil Defense, rushed to the spot and rescued the trios.

Later, they were sent to PalashbariupazilaHealth Complex where the attending doctors declared the siblings- Habibur and Hasan dead.

Officer in charge(OC) of Gobindaganjthana AKM Mehedi Hasan confirmed the deaths of the siblings after falling into the deep well.

A preparation is going on to file a case of unnatural deaths with the thana in this connection, the OC concluded.

A pal of gloom descended in the village after hearing the tragic deaths of the siblings.
