Two Jahangirnagar university students killed Pabna road accident

Two students of Jahangirnagar University were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at Tebunia in Pabna Sadar Upazila on Thursday.The incident took place in front of Tebunia Agricultural Farm on the Pabna-Natorehighway of the upazila at around 11:30am.

The deceased are Rifat Al Sifat,21, son of Kamruzzamana residence of Ramchandrapurvillage inSujanagarupazila and Rubayet Hasan Noman,22, son of Manju Master of Mahela area in Chatmoharupazila of Pabn.Both are students of Jahangirnagar University.

According to police and eyewitness sources, a Rabi Paribahan passenger bus was coming towards Pabna from Natore at around 11:30 am.As the bus was speeding recklessly, it collided head-on with a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw heading towards Ishwardi leaving two students who were passengers of the autorickshaw were killed on the spot.They were going to Rooppur and Pakshi in Ishwardi on vacation from the university.

Three injured were admitted to Pabna General Hospital.

Officer-in-charge of Ishwardipolice station Atabinda Sarkar confirmed the incident and said that `the police team is working at the spot.Both the deceased are students of Jahangirnagar university. The body was recovered and kept in the hospital.The body will be handed over if there is no complaint from the family.Then legal action will be taken.’
