Two farmers were killed in separate lightning strikes in Ishwardi and Atghoriaupazilas in Pabna on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Ayen Uddin,65, hailed from Fatemohammadpur village under Ishwardi municipality and Sadek Mollah,40, an inhabitant at Kakmari village in Atghoriaupazila in the district.

Officer-in-charge of Ishwardi police station, Arabinda Sarkar and OC of Atghoria police station, Anwar Hossain said the two farmers were struck by thunderbolt while working crops land at around 9am to 10am on Tuesday. They died on the spots.
