At last one brother and one sister of a same family were beaten to death and two others were injured by their rival due to a simple matter at Roypur village under Kathalbari union in KurigramSadarupazila at 9.30 pm on Wednesday. Six arrested and amurder case was filed on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as AbulKalam Azad 70 and his elder sister Sakina Begum 75

Locals and police sources said in the broad daylight at noon on Wednesday the deceased AbulKalam exchanged hot words with his neighbor DulalMiah over cutting a branch of a mango tree. At one stage of their altercation Dulal Miah became agitated and attacked on AbulKalam Azad with bamboo stick at 9.30 pm.

AbulKalam and his elder sister Sakina injuredon head seriously. They were immediately taken to Kurigram General Hospital in a critical condition where the attending doctors declared AbulKalm dead. Hearing the death news his sister SakinaBegum shocked and died in the Hospital in the same day.

The deceased family as well as the villagers are shocked following the incident.

Officer-in-charge of KurigramSadar police station Khan Mohammad Shahrear told that a murder case was filed accusing 12 on Thursday and six accused were arrested.

Additional Superintendent of police Sadar circle Md. Ziaur Rahman said six accused were arrested and the rest six accused will be arrested soon
