Three people in a family were killed and four others injured when a bus ran over them in Karial of KashinathpurinSanthiaUpazila of Pabna Thursday night.

The incident took place at around 7pm on Thursday at Karial area on the ​​Dhaka-Pabna highway. The deceased are Abu Saeed, 55, his son Tawhid,4, and Rawza,5, daughter of Abu Saeed’s brother Amir Hamza.

Confirming the matter, Asif Mohammad Siddiukul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Santhia police station said that they were returning home in a van after being invited to Karial area along with their families. Meanwhile, a bus from Pabna to Dhaka got stuck on the highway and ran over them, leaving all the passengers.

Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to a local hospital. Later in the night, when their condition worsened, they were sent to PabnaMedical College Hospital. Of them, three died on the way to the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhpur Highway police station SM Abdul Kasem Azad said that we later went to the spot and recovered the van. But the bus driver fled with the bus.
