The deceased were identified as Roni Mia, 20, of Nataram Khiarpara village under Kutubpur union of Badarganj upazila, Yusuf Ali, 38, son of Abdul Gafur of Chittagong’s Halishahar upazila and Nahid Sikder, 24, son of Bachchu Sikder of Lohagarh upazila in Narail. Among them are brothers about Yusuf Ali and Nahid Sikder. Roni Mia is the brother-in-law of the two.

According to police and family sources, Yusuf Ali and Nahid Sikder’s father-in-law’s house is in Nataram Khiarpara village of Badarganj under Rangpur district. They came to visit there last Sunday. Yusuf Ali and Nahid Sikder were going to the local Padaganj market with their brother-in-law Roni Mia on a motorcycle after dinner last night.

Yusuf Ali was riding a motorcycle. He lost control of the motorcycle in Khiarpara area. The motorcycle collided with a tree on the side of the road. Yusuf Ali was killed on the spot. Roni Mia and Nahid Sikder were seriously injured when they fell from the motorcycle.

People in the area rescued them in critical condition. They were rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The two died between one and a half o’clock at night while undergoing treatment there.

Badarganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman said three people were going to the market on the same motorcycle. The driver lost control at the time of the accident. The matter is very tragic.
