After killing his wife in Sundarganj Upazila, Swami Manju Mia came to the police station voluntarily and arrested the police. The incident took place at Gopal Charan village in Dahaband union of the upazila on Sunday. Monju is the son of Naum Uddin of that village.

It is learned that husband Manju Mia had been having a family dispute with his wife Reshma Begum for a long time. At one stage of the altercation between the two on Sunday morning, the husband hit his wife on the head with an ax and she died on the spot. After that, husband Manju Mia rented a rickshaw and came to the police station and confessed to the police that he had killed his wife. Later, the police rushed to the spot to recover the body and brought it to the police station for autopsy. In this incident, a crowd was noticed in the police station premises. The incident has also caused a stir in the area. According to family sources, Manzur was married to Reshma Begum, daughter of Fazlul Haque of Moniram Kazi Falgachha village in Bamandanga Union, 18 years ago. They have one daughter and two sons.

Dahaband UP chairman Golam Kabir Mukul said Manju Mia had killed his wife due to a family quarrel. However, Manju Mia is a mental patient. Police Inspector Bulbul Islam said that according to Manzoor’s confession, he had killed his wife. He himself came to the police station and confessed to the murder and handed it over to the police. The case is being prepared.
