Police recovered a slaughtered body of a youth from near a bamboo bush at Telepara area under Dharnebari union of Ulipurupazila in the morning on Friday (January 20).

The deceased was identified as Rafikul Islam 33 son of late Faku Sheikh of the area.

Police and family sources said Rafikul came out from the house at night on Thursday and was missing. His family members searched him here and there but failed. Later they found the body near the bamboo bush of Telepara village under Dharnibari union and informed to police.

Being informed police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Kurigram Superintendent of policeAl Asad Mohammad Mahfujul Islam and Additional Superintendent of police Mohammad Mohibul Islam visited on the spot.

Officer-in-charge of Ulipur police station Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman admitted the incident and told that the body was however sent to KurigramSadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A preparation was going on to file a case with police,OC added.
