Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will come to Rajshahi after five long years. Rajshahi, the mango capital, has now turned into a festival city around her arrival. After all the preparations, the people here are eagerly waiting to welcome Bangabandhu’s daughter.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to Rajshahi on Sunday (January 29) for three consecutive terms. Apart from attending the public meeting organized by Rajshahi Metropolitan and District Awami League at Rajshahi Madrasa ground, Sheikh Hasina will participate in a program at Police Academy in Sarada.

Madrasa Ground, Railgate Kamruzzaman Square, Siroil Bus Terminal, Bhadra, Talaimari, Alupatti, Kumarpara, Sahebbazar Zeropoint, Sonadighir Junction, Fire Brigade Junction, Sinandbi Junction, Loipur Mintu Junction, Tomtom Junction, Warnali Junction are now seen in the entire city.

The entire city is covered with banners-festoons-arcades around the arrival of the Prime Minister. Important places of the city, parks, establishments, buildings, offices are arranged in a special way.

In addition to welcoming the Prime Minister, information on various developments of the government including mega projects has been highlighted in the banner-festoon. Rajshahi, known as a clean city, has been made more sparkling on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s arrival.

A huge stage is being prepared in the Madrasah Maidan in the shape of a ‘boat’, a symbol of Awami League’s history and tradition. Apart from the huge stage, the Madrasah Maidan has been decorated with various posters-placards.

Several levels of security arrangements have been made around the rally ground. The activists have to enter the field through certain gates through the archway and pass security checks. Apart from Madrasah Maidan, security has been strengthened in the entire Rajshahi city. Along with uniformed law and order forces, a large number of security personnel in plain clothes are doing security work.

Meanwhile, Awami League has completed all preparations to make Sheikh Hasina’s arrival and public meeting a success. District and metropolitan Awami League leaders are working under the supervision of the central leaders of Awami League. They have prepared for a large public gathering in the public meeting.

Leaders and workers are ready to welcome the Prime Minister. They are in the mood of the festival. They are inviting people to come to public meetings with processions, leaflet delivery. Mikeing is going on in the neighborhood. Besides, they are conducting organizational activities to ensure the participation of all their leaders and activists in public meetings.

In the press conference organized by Rajshahi Metropolitan and District Awami League on Saturday (January 28) morning, AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, President of Central Awami League and Mayor of Rajshahi City, said that meetings and campaigns have been held in various districts around Rajshahi.

We are getting huge response everywhere. The Prime Minister’s rally in Rajshahi will be the largest in memory. The rally will be memorable for everyone. In this public meeting, the Prime Minister will give an important directive speech.

Khairuzzaman Liton said, Sunday’s public meeting is expected to gather 7 lakh people. For that all preparations have been completed. The entire metropolis will become a rallying ground.

Awami League’s Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr. Hashan Mahmud said, people and Awami League leaders and supporters are getting a great response. I hope that outside the madrasa grounds, the surrounding areas will also become crowded.
