A 62-year-sexagenarian man was killed after being ran over by a RAB car at Ratonpur area on theTebunuia-Chatmohar road in Chatmohar upazila in Pabna on Monday night. The accident happened at around 7mp on Monday and died around 9 pm when he reached Noodapara area on the way to Rajshahi Medical.
The RAB members left the injuring old man in their car at Chatmohar Upazila Health while seriously injured.Later he died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Raich Sheikh,62, son of Parbat Sheikh a residence of Ratanpur village under Mulgram union in the upazila.
According to relatives, eyewitnesses and hospital sources, Raich Sheikh was on his way home after praying at a local mosque and was seriously injured when he fell to the ground when the RAB car hit him while crossing the road in Ratanpur area of Chatmohar-Tebunia road.
Later, RAB members rescued him and left the hospital quickly after keeping him in Upazila Health Complex.When his condition worsened, Raich Sheikh died around 9 pm when he reached Noodapara area on the way to Rajshahi Medical.
In this regard, Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Reza said that an old man Raich Sheikh was injured after being hit by a RAB-12 vehicle.Later I heard that he died on the way to Rajshahi.However, the family did not file any complaint with the police.
Ehteshamul Haque Khan, company commander of CPC-2, RAB-12 Pabna, was contacted several times on his mobile phone, but he did not receive the call.He did not respond even though he sent a short message identifying himself as a journalist.
