sewing machines distributed among participants in Kurigram

A-20 day long sewing training ends and sewing machine were distributed free of cost among participants in the conference room of Kurigram Zila Parishad at noonon Friday (December 24).

Initiated and funded by Zila Parishad,Kurigram where a total of 47 poor and unemployed women participated in the training.Director of the training program Falguni Tarafdar told that all the participants learnt how to make shirt, blouse, patty coat and others within a short time. They can earn easily through tailoring.

In the concluding ceremony Mayor of Kurigram Municipality Kaziul Islam was present as the chief guest where Assistant Engineer of Zila Parishad Mizanur Rahman was presided over the meeting.

Member of Zila Parishad Assistant professor Mahbuba Begum Lovely, Director of the Training Program FalguniTarafdar, engineer Mizanur Rahman spoke among others. Reporter GolamRabbani conducted the whole program. Local elites, reporters of both print and electronic media were present in the function.

The speakers emphasized to apply and exercise the sewing training and to be self-reliant mitigating poverty.

Earlier, the training begun on December 4 was inaugurated by chairman of the ZilaParishad and former MP Alhaj Zafar Ali and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Parishad Faridul Islam was presided.

Then the speakers also said that the training will very helpful to you. It was fifth batch of training and sewing machine distribution program will continue every year to build up skilled hand in sewing to become self-reliant,ZilaParishad officials said.
