Uttering the slogan, “Brikkho Prane Prokriti-Protibesh, Agami Projonmer Tekshoi Banfladesh” A seven-day long tree fair with tree plantation has been kicked-off at Shaheed Titu Millenayatan in Bogura town on Thursday noon.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bogura district Md. Ziaul Hoque was present in the inauguration programme as chief guest and Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Bogura, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Awal presided over the whole programme.
With the assistance of the district administration, Department of Forest Division (DFO) of Bogura district has arranged the programmee and at least 30 nursery of the district participated in the fair for displaying different woody and herbal trees.
Speakers said that presently the whole world has been proceeding towards the worst situation due to the heavy drought which has been held for the climate change in the world and to prevent the climate change, more and more trees should be planted and all should come forward to take initiative of planting more trees.
Other speakers were Superintendent of Police (SP), Bogura, Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty, President of Bangladesh Awami League, Bogura district unit, Mojibor Rahman Mojnu, Sadar upazila Chairman Abu Sufian Shafique, Vice-Chairman Hefajot Ara Mira and others.
