School Banking Conference’24 in Bogura stressed students’ savings

The school banking conference’24 in Bogura has stressed on the savings mentality of the students from their early ages for building smart Bangladesh by 2041.

Uttering the slogan “Ajker Shonchoyer Ovvashgulo Gore Debe, Oder Agami Diner Uzzal Vobisshat” the conference was held by 47 banks lead by Mercantile Bank PLC supported by Bangladesh bank at hotel’71 Auditorium at Nobabbari road in Bogura on Saturday morning where Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Head Office in the capital Husne Ara Shikha was present as the chief guest.

Special guests were Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Bogura Branch Md. Shahed Ali, District Education Officer of Bogura Hazrat Ali, General Manager of Sonali Bank Rashidul Islam, Regional Manager of Mercantile Bank Md. Motiur Rahman. The whole programme was presided over by Deputy Managing Director of Mercantile Bank PLC Adil Raihan.

In the conference, welcome speech was delivered by Mercantile Bank Bogura branch Manager Md. Alauddin whereas opening speech was given Regional Manager of Mercantile Bank, Bogura area, Md. Motiur Rahman.

Assistant teacher Jahurul Haque from Bogura Cantonment School and College and Lamiya Aktar from class eight of Vandari School of Bogura spoke from their respective positions.

The chief guest stressed on the savings mentality of the students from their early ages so that they can use their deposited money for their betterment and they can also take loan at Tk. 5 lakh from the banks if necessary.

On the faith of banking sectors, the 43 lakh accounts for the students have been opened without giving any service charge so far and the bankers can play very role in turning Bangladesh as Digital Bangladesh by 2041.

In the banking conference, two officers from each bank of 47 banks, 2 teachers and 6 students from each school of 47 schools of the district took part in the conference and it was started with colourful rally and balloons releasing in the sky in the morning and ended with quiz competition and cultural program in the same venue.
