River ambulance service has been inaugurated at Roumari upazila in Kurigram. Initiated by Kurigram Popular General (Private) Hospital was inaugurated by state Minister for Primary and Mass education Minister Zakir Hossain at Roumari River Ghat yesterday.

Former Additional Secretary and initiator of the River Ambulance Badrul Hasan Babul, Deputy Civil Surgeon (DCS) Dr. Borhan Uddin, Roumari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Al Emran, Upazila chairman Sheikh Abdullah, general Secretary of upazila AL Razaul Karim Minu were present among others.

Former Additional Secretary and initiator of River Ambulance Badrul Hasan Babul informed that Roumari and Rajibpur upazila are disconnected by the Brahmaputra River causing the people of these areas were suffered badly to carry all kinds of patients including dying patients. Consequently the River Ambulance service has been started to mitigate sufferings. All kinds of first Aid including Oxygen Cylinder, Nebulizer facilities are included in this ambulance.

State Minister for Primary and Mass education Minister Zakir Hossain said to start River Ambulance facility, disrupted communication of the patients will be mitigated, he added.
