RAB-12 has arrested two drug dealers with 20 kg of cannabis from Juanpur village of Garidaha area on the Dhaka-Bogura highway around 8:30 am on Wednesday (July 6)under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The arrested are Sohel Rana (32) and Sajib Mridha (22) of Santosha village of Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district. Among them are Sohail truck driver and Sajib helper respectively.
Nazrul Islam, the company commander in charge of the RAB-12 camp in Bogura said, “Based on the secret information, it was learned that a truck carrying cannabis was going from Lalmonirhat to Pabna. In such news, a temporary check post was set up in Juanpur village of Garidaha area of Sherpur upazila.
Two persons were arrested along with 20 kg of cannabis, cash and mobile phone from the truck.At that time RAB seized the truck (Dhaka Metro-T-20-1336) used for transporting drugs”.
“They have been handed over to Sherpur police station to take legal action against them” he added.
