Probe committee on Monday submitted an investigation report into the dismissal of TTE Shafiqul Islam, who fined three relatives of the railway minister for traveling without ticket.

The report says that TTE Shafiqul Islam is completely innocent.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shahidul Islam submitted the report at his office at around 11.20 am on Monday.

Earlier, a three-member inquiry committee was formed on May 7 to find out the real cause of the incident.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) Sajedul Islam was headed by the committee and two other members Assistant Executive Engineer (AIN) Shipon Ali and Assistant Commandant of Railway Security Forces (ACRNB) Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal.

The investigation report was supposed to be submitted within two working days but was later extended for another three days. Although the report was scheduled to be submitted on Thursday, the report was submitted three days later due to DRM being in Dhaka and a public holiday.

On Friday (May 6), Shafiqul Islam, a traveling ticket examiner (TTE) of the Sundarbans Express from Khulna to Dhaka, was suspended after three passengers were fined for traveling without a ticket in the name of a relative of the Railway Minister.

Shahidul Islam, the manager of Pakshi Divisional Railway, withdrew the dismissal order of TTE Shafiqul Islam on May 8 at noon after the news was published in the media. At the same time, he lamented the dismissal of Nasir Uddin, Commercial Officer (DCO) of Pakshi Divisional Railway.
