Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gifted cash over twenty thousand among extreme poor families under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district coming holy Eid-Ul-Fitr and the global epidemic Corona(Covid-19) her gift cash distribution program has been inaugurated among twenty-one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three impoverished men and women in Sherpur.
The chief guest of the function at Sughat Union Parishad premises of the upazila on Saturday (May 8) afternoon, Member of Parliament (MP) &Freedom Fighter Alhaj Habibar Rahman handed over Tk 450 in cash to the beneficiaries and announced the official inauguration of the distribution program.
Speaking as the chief guest at the function presided over by the chairman of the union Abu Saeed, MP Habibar Rahman said the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of the father of the nation. The present government is committed to building a happy and prosperous country. The government is working towards that.Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream was to build a country free from hunger and poverty and to bring smiles on the faces of helpless people. Therefore, as long as her worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina is alive, not a single person in this country will go without food. That is why the global epidemic. In this continuity, cash is being distributed among the extremely poor people during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr and Corona situation.
Organizing Secretary of Awami League Shamim Iftekhar Shamim, General Secretary of Sughat Union Awami League Moniruzzaman Jinnah, Former General Secretary of Krishka League Ashraful Alam Ayub Khan, MP PS Korban Ali Milon and other leader of local Awami League and its affiliated organizations were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the poorest of the poor are happy to receive cash from the special gift given by the Prime Minister during the holy month of Ramadan.
Upazila Project Implementation Officer Shamshunnahar Shiuli said that during Eid-ul-Fitr and Corona, a total of 2193 families in the upazila will get Tk 450 in cash as a gift from the Prime Minister. Of these, Tk 7,19,400 is being given to 17,312 families in ten unions of the upazila and 4,621 families in nine wards of the municipality are getting Tk 20,69,450. After the inauguration, the money will be distributed to all the unions including the municipality in phases, She said.
