National Insurance Day-2024was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country today in a befitting manner with a call to create confidence more about the insurance to the people of the country.

This year’s theme of the day was ‘KarboBima Garbo Desh, Smart Hobe Bangladesh’. Marking the day, district administration in association with country’s famous insurance companies chalked out elaborate programmes.

In the morning around 10 AM, additional deputy commissioner-Revenue Jahid Hasan Siddiquee formally inaugurated the day on the premises of district collectorat building here as the chief guest.

The meeting was also addressed among others by assistant general manager of Delta life Insurance Company Asoyad Hossain and insurance development personalities KhandkerShamim Ahmed and ArbinduSaha while insurance personality ATM Sabud Miah moderated the function.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC-Revenue in his speeches said the government led by Prime Minister Shekh Hasina decided to celebrate March 1 as the National Insurance Day every year.

Then, the present government had upgraded the “National Insurance Day” from ‘B’ category to ‘A’ category last year commemorating the great architect of independence, greatest Bangalee of all times and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he added.

He suggested the urged the insurance personalities to earn public confidence through providing sincere activities.

The chief guest also urged insurance companies to create awareness among the mass people about benefits of having insurance, render services and dispose of claims using digitized technologies in a hassle-free manner to accelerate national progress and help the government build Smart Bangladesh by 2041, a vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Later, the chief guest led the rally that paraded the main roads of the town. Crests were also distributed to the successful insurance employees marking the day.

A large number of insurance development personalities, invited guests and media men attended the programmes. Similiar programmes were also held in other six-upazila headquarters  he remarking the day.
