Miscreants cut down about half a hundred mango trees in Sapaher

The miscreants have cut down about half a hundred mango trees of journalist Pradeep Saha in the dark of night in under Sapahar upazila of Naogaon on last Friday night.

The trees were cut down on a field in Lalmatia village of Karoldanga mouza of the upazila.
The owner of the damaged garden, Pradeep Saha, said he planted 125 Bari-4 and Arpali varieties of saplings on a commercial basis on about one bigha of his land and the age of the trees is about one year.

When I went to see the garden on Wednesday afternoon, April 21, I saw two goats eating trees in the garden. After that I came to the garden at 9 am on Saturday and saw that the miscreants had cut down 50 of my Arpali trees.

Talking to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Tarequr Rahman, he said the police had visited the spot on the basis of the complaint and necessary action would be taken.
