A fisherman was killed struck by lightning while he was catching fish in a water body near his house at Roumariupazila in Kurigram, at noon on Sunday (July 02).

The deceased was identified as Sukur Ali 35 son of Mazibar Rahman of village Tintely under Roumariupazila.

Local sources said Sukur Ali went to the water body near his house at noon on Sunday to catch fish. At that time it was raining and lightning was also going on with rain. At one stage lightning struck him causing he became injure seriously.

Later his neighbors rescued him and immediately took away toRoumariupazila health complex where the attending doctor MasudRana declared him dead. The dead body was taken to the health complex, the doctor said.
