Former Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Liaquat Ali Sheikh Sheikh under Sherpur Upazila of Bogura district has been transferred and posted as OSD (Officer in Special Duty) Special Officer in connection with the collapse of some parts of the house of Prime Minister’s Gift Shelter Project at Sherpur in Bogura
He has been made a special officer in charge of the Ministry of Public Administration.On July 4, Deputy Secretary Abul Fate Mohammad Safiqul Islam issued a notification in this regard.
Md.Liaquat Ali Sheikh was working as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Senior Assistant Secretary) of Chapainawabganj district.
He was earlier accused of corruption and irregularities in the implementation of the TR Kabikha project, including irregularities in the Asrayan project. He joined Sherpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer in October 2016.
He was then posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Barisal this year. On 11 April 2021, he joined from Sherpur Upazila as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj.
Recently, several houses of the Prime Minister’s Asylum Project collapsed in Khanpur of Sherpur Upazila, causing a stir across the country. Shortly afterwards, he was given a punitive transfer order.
