An exchange meeting was held between Pabna University of Science and Technology’s the newly appointed Vice-ChancellorDrHafizaKhatun and pro Vice-Chancellor Prof SM Mostafa Kamal Khan with journalists on Tuesday.

After the introductory session of all present at office of the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday  noon conducted by DD of the Public Relations and Publications department of the University Md. Faruk Hossain Chowdhury various aspects including university education system, provision of news information to journalists, past-future, recruitment trade, infrastructure, expansion of university space were discussed at the meeting.

Vice-Chancellor ProfHafizaKhatun said, “I want the cooperation of journalists to take this university forward.” Everyone, including our students, is moving forward to become world class citizens. We are engaged in building a new standard university instead of everything.” She said that “Our dream is big, we want to do better.”

The newly VC expressed her determination to open a new department in line with the environment of Pabna, including the Rooppur nuclear power plant.In a very short time, we have been able to create a lifelong desire among teachers and students. We have brought back their morale and strength. She expressed her hope that she would be able to sow the seeds of dreams in them.Referring to policy corruption as big corruption, she said, “I will not give anyone a chance to corrupt here.”

VC also said that journalists will play a big role as observers of our work. They will keep us awake all the time so that our speed does not slow down. Highlight the truth as our friend. Call truth black.

She said that Pabna has a long tradition of journalism. She will be by our side in the construction of Pabna University of Science and Technology in continuation of the glorious role played by the journalists here in all the democratic movements including the great language movement and the war of liberation. She thanked the journalists for their cooperation.

Referring to various news reports, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Mostafa Kamal Khan said that this university should move forward sacrificing various views in order to build a world-class institution. It is not impossible to reach the goal despite our limitations.Regarding the transparency of work.”I want to help journalists with all the information so that the nation knows what we are doing, he added.”

Pabnapress club president ABM Fazlur Rahman highlighted the tradition of Pabna journalism and said, “We want to cooperate in all positive works.” It is our expectation that Pabna’s institution will gain worldwide reputation.

Noted that on April 12, this year, the retired professor of the University of Dhaka, a prominent environmental expert DrHafizaKhatun as Vice-Chancellor and on 13 April, North South University prof SM Mostafa Kamal Khan was appointed as the pro Vice-Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology.

Journalists of different media, registrar (current duty) Bijan Kumar Brahma, proctor Kamal Hossain and others were present at the meeting.
