Jubo cell of Jana Udyog, a social organization formed by the conscious citizens of the district town, conducted publicity and motivational campaign at important places of the district town yesterday to create much awareness among the mass people about corona.

An inaugural function was also held in front of Asaduzzaman Market on DB Road of the district town on Saturday noon with convener of the organization professor JahurulKaiyum in the chair.

In the  function,  acting president of district Awami League Farhad Abdullah Harun Bablu, general secretary of Gaibandha Bar Association Adv. Sirajul Islam Babu, former panel mayor of Gaibandha Municipality GM Chowdhury Mithu, member secretary of Jana Udyog and also president of Abalambon Foundation ProbirChakarabatee, human rights worker Anjali Rani Debi, development workers Md. Shahidul Islam  and AhaduzzamanRimu, Dalit leader KhilonRobi das and youth leaders Shikha, Safin, Adhir and Shantana addressed, among others.

The speakers in their speeches said corona virus had spread all over the world and the situation had turned into pandemic form as a result, lakhs of people died and making the peoples of the world more worried about corona.

Though now, the corona infection rate is reducing day by day internationally, but Bangladesh is still now is in vulnerable position. Every day, a number of peoples are dying due to corona in Bangladesh, the also said.

In this context, there is no alternative to follow the health guidelines to save from the corona, they added.

As per the directives of the health experts, the speakers suggested the common people to wear masks, to wash hands with soaps repeatedly, use hand sanitizers, maintain social distancing, to halt the spread of corona in our country.

They also urged the people to stay home safely and not to go outsides unnecessarily amid the risk of corona infection.

Member secretary of the organization ProbirChakrabartee in his speeches underscored the need for showing integrated efforts of all section of people as cordial and joint efforts of the people could help face the corona situation of the country properly.

Later, a team of singers rendered folk songs about corona and its prevention through a well decorated mobile pickup van at important places of the district town.

The team of the van also distributed masks, sanitizers to the common people free of cost on behalf of the organization to combat corona.

The town elite highly lauded the initiative of the organization as it would help check the spread of corona in the district undoubtedly.
