Jahura Foundation has distributed quilts among 75 helpless, poor, distressed, old and widowed women and men of Jumaikhiri village of Atgharia upazila in Pabna.
Engineer Wazed Ali, founder of Jahura Foundation and JGMCH Jahura Begum Hafezia Madrasa and Mosque Complex, presided over a function at the Jahura Villa premises of the foundation’s own office recently.
Lifetime member of the organisation Ataur Rahman Reza, former assistant prof of Pabna Medical College Hospital and president of Jahura Foundation Dr. Rezaul Hasan, founding member Shaila Sultana, social worker Azizul Haque Biswas, assistant prof Dr.professor Babul Karim was present as special guestWhile, Sujanagar Upazila assistant education officer Azizur Rahman conducted the programme.People from different classes and profession of the area were present at the time.
The founder of the foundation said that the villages where quilts have been distributed as winter clothes are Jumaikhiri, Gobinadpur, Gangarampur, Chaubaria, Hidaskhol, Maheshpur, Dengargram in the upazila.
President of the foundation Dr.Rezaul Hasan said, since its establishment in 2020, this foundation has been conducting various social activities. The president of the foundation said that the helpless and poor common people have suffered due to the severity of winter.He said, taking into account the suffering of poor people in severe winter, their suffering will be reduced and they are cooperating with the ability from social responsibility.
He also said that the types of work that our organisation has been doing in particular are – distribution of winter clothes among the poor and needy, financial assistance to widows, widows and the needy, medical assistance to the helpless, wheelchairs to the disabled, financial assistance to poor students, financial assistance to marriages,poor child, free operation of cataract patients, distribution of iftar material, emergency assistance, donation to religious institutions, distribution of clothes, distribution of sacrificial meat.
He urged the government, various social organisations and political parties to come forward for the welfare of the poor people of Pabna.
