An international conference was held at Rajshahi University (RU) on translational research in biology where honorable UGC member of the Government of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Hasina Khan and RU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md Golam Sabbir Sattar was chief patron in the programme.
The conference was organized on Saturday jointly by the Institute of Biological Sciences and the Society of Microbiologists of India.
The main purpose of this conference was to present and discuss the research activities of local and foreign renowned researchers on the progress of translational research and its obstacles.
Prominent researchers from Australia, UK, India, Nepal and Bangladesh presented their research papers in the conference. Their presentation discussed the importance of translational research in human health, agriculture and economic development.
Without this, barriers to translational research are also discussed in the programme.
University pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Humayun Kabir, Professor Dr. Jahan Ara Khanam and the President of Microbiologists Society of India, Prof. Dr. AM Deshmukh were presented as special guest in the programme.
