National Fisheries Week was inaugurated in Chapainawabganj with a procession, discussion meeting and release of fish hatchery under the slogan of ‘ Fill the country with safe fish, Build a smart Bangladesh ‘.
On Tuesday morning, the National Fisheries Week was inaugurated at the district administration office jointly organized by the District Administration and Fisheries Department, Chapainawabganj. After that, a colorful procession went around the main main road of the city and met for discussion in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan presided over the meeting as the chief guest Member of Parliament for reserved seat Ferdosi Islam jesi.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Roknuzzaman Sarkar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Anisur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Roushan Ali, Deputy Director of District Youth Development Department Abdul Mannan, Brave Freedomfighter Adv. Abdus Samad spoke as special guests on the occasion. District Fisheries Officer Mahbubur Rahman gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
Akbar Hossain, owner and entrepreneur of Nawab Hi-Tech Fish Farm, spoke among others. Sadar Upazila Fisheries Officer Masud Parvez conducted the program. Awards were presented to successful fish farmers, entrepreneurs and organizations at the inaugural function.
Earlier in the morning, the guests released fish fry in the reservoir adjacent to Sadar Upazila Parishad.
Officials of various departments including District Fisheries Officer, various fishermen and journalists from print and electronic media participated in the inauguration ceremony.
