In Triennial election of BUJ, JM Rouf as President, Rana as General Secretary

The triennial election of Bogura Union of Journalists (BUJ) was held with huge fervour at Bogura Press Club in Bogura on Saturday. In the BUJ election, 79 out of 82 Journalists of Bogura district have cast their valuable votes for electing President and General Secretary of the renowned and traditional pro-journo organization of the district.

The election was held with peacefully to form an 8-member body of the Journalists to establish their professional rights to the state and other arguments. The winning President aspirant JM Rouf of “The Daily Kalerkantha” who begged 53 votes while his opponent and defeated candidate SM Kawsar of “The Daily Samakal” begged 26 votes.

Contrary, Winning General Secretary aspirant of “The Daily Karatoa” Masudur Rahman Rana who begged 59 votes while his opponent and defeated candidate GM Sajol of RTv begged only 20 votes.

From the 8-member body, Vice-president Chapal Saha, Joint-Secretary Probir Mohanta, Finance Secretary Elias Hossain and 3-members of executive body of BUJ Nazmul Huda Nasim, Tansen Alam Talukdar and Shabu Islam were elected uncontested.

Prodip Bhattra Charjawa, Chairman of BUJ Election Conducting Committee and member of the committee Thanda Azad conducted the election with the presence of the officials of Department of Law, Bogura.
