IGP urges to ensure shopping in compliance with health protection including wearing mask to prevent corona infection

Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Dr. Benazir Ahmed BPM (Bar) made the call at an exchange meeting with the leaders of the Bangladesh Shop Owners’ Association  on Tuesday the steps to be taken to curb the spread of corona virus infection.

All police commissioners, range DIGs and district police superintendents were present online at the meeting, which was held in the conference room of the police headquarters.

The IGP said both shopkeepers and buyers must wear masks when shopping. Sanitary or hand washing should be provided at the entrance of the shop or shopping mall. Body temperature must be checked when entering the shopping mall.

One must discourage more people from entering any store at once to ensure that social distance is maintained. In the case of large stores, the position of the buyer should be marked with a round mark.

He appealed to the traders, shop owners and the general public to buy and sell in all shops and shopping malls across the country in compliance with health protection ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The IGP said, “If we all abide by the government rules and regulations, the corona infection will be reduced and the death rate will also be reduced.” He said that while running, one has to make a living and also make a living. We have to continue by coordinating.

Md. Helal Uddin, president of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, told the meeting that they have set up hand washing or sanitizer in front of each market. Percentage mask wear has been confirmed. Disinfectant tunnels have been installed in big shopping malls. He said traders across the country are very vocal and vigilant in ensuring health protection against coronavirus.

Additional IG (A&O) Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional IG (Finance) SM Ruhul Amin, Additional IG (HRM) Md Mazharul Islam, DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam along with senior police officers and leaders of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association were present.
