Human chain has been held to demand the release of local tribal union leaders detained in a false case filed by land grabbers under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
This meeting has been organized on the east side of the Dhaka-Bogura highway at the local bus stand of the on Thursday (July 20) noon of the upazila.
General Secretary Aminul Islam Farid of Bogura District Communist Party, General Secretary of Upazila Committee President Harishankar Saha, Central Leaders of Adivasi Union Mr. Kant Mahato, Nimai Ghosh, Ghajen Mahato, Abdus Samad, Shuboshankar Guhu of the hour-long human chain program organized by Upazila Adivasi Union spoke in the meeting.
The speakers in the program expressed their anger over the detention of tribal union leaders in a case filed by land grabbers of Ambeil area of Bhavanipur union of the upazila. At the same time, the protested strongly and demanded immediate unconditional release.
Noted that recently Faridul Islam Gongra of Ambeil village filed a case against the people of minority community. Bangladesh Adivasi Union Sherpur Upazila branch president Kamal Singh, members Nadu Singh, Arjun Singh, Sukumar Singh, Ganesh Singh and Shanta Singh were arrested and sent to jail in that case.
