Speakers in a function here today said health insurance could ensure good health for vulnerable children to help build healthy nation.
“ As many as 3500 vulnerable children and families of Gidari, Ghgoa and Kholahati unions under Saddar upazila in the district would be brought under health insurance activity under Health Insurance project for Vulnerable Children and Families that would be implemented by World Vision Bangladesh, a Christian relief, developmentand advocacy organization in partnership with is MILVIK a Swedish HealthTech(also known as BIMA), with the financial support of Vision Fund International and World Vision Australia. ”, they also said.
This was disclosed by the officials of World Vision Bangladesh here in an inception workshop held at the conference room of SKS Inn located at Radhakrishnapur area under Sadarupazila in the district this noon.
Sadarupazila health and family planning officer Dr. Touhidul Anwar addressed it as the chief guest and deputy director of Resource Development and Coordinator of the organization Dr. Rahul Mathew spoke at the event as the special guest while SwaponMondal, senior manager of Rangpur area coordination office, presided over the ceremony.
Health education officer of CS Office here Md. Amirul Islam Gidari UP chairman Harun-ur-Rashid, Kholahati UP Chairman MasumHakkani addressed the function as invited guests.
Earlier, a presentation on the project was done by area program manager of the organization here Uttam Das and a power point presentation on health insurance and the overall activity of MILVIK here was done by Shehreen Kamal, country lead, Marketing & Strategic Partnerships.
Shereen Kamal in her presentation said health insurance would be ensured for 3500 vulnerable children and families of the unions and seven kinds of health relating facilities including tele consultation, arrangement of talking to expert doctors over button and smart mobile phones, discount and cashback would be provided to the selected children and families free of cost under the insurance activity.
A good number of participants also participated in the open discussion session and gave their recommendations to make the project designed for three years a grand success.
Around 100 people including public representatives, elite of the project command area, NGO activists and journalists and invited persons attended the workshop.
