Freedom fighter killed when a truck rammed into a shop

A freedom fighter was killed and four others were injured when a moving truck rammed into a shop at Bara Pathailhat in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Sunday.

The slain freedom fighter is Aksed Mondal,85, a residence of the Bara Pathailhat village of Santhia upazila.

Injured Jahurul Islam,35, Shahida Khatun,37, Nur Islam Mondal,60, and Ratan Molla,30, of the same village who were injured have been admitted to Faridpur Upazila Health Complex.

Santhia Police Station Officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain said that at around 11am when a speedy truck lost control and rammed into a shop on the Baghabari-Chatmoharregional road, leaving freedom fighter Aksed Mondal was killed on the spot and four others were injured.

Police recovered the body from the spot and handed it over to the family. The police officer said that the family will file a case after the burial. The driver fled but the truck has been seized.
