Police recovered a foreign revolver from an abandoned place on the side of the highway under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
At that time, the owner of the firearm or anyone related to revolver could not be arrested.
On Monday (August 29) night, the weapon was recovered from a field on the eastern side of the Dhaka-Bogura highway at a place called Sherua of Shahbandegi Union of the upazila.
Confirming this information on Tuesday (August 30th) afternoon, Sub Inspector (SI) Kamruzzaman of Sherpur Police Station said, ” We embarked on an operation to recover drugs and illegal weapons.”At one stage,we received a news secretly that there was firearm in Sherua village.”We conducted a raid to recover the firearm from an abandoned aurum field on the side of the road of the village adjacent to the highway.& Burma is written on it.”
“The recovered firearm is old but active.However, its owner or anyone related has not been found.So, the weapon has been seized and a general diary has been made at the police station,” added he.
