The overall flood situation in Kurigram district remained unchanged. Although water level of all the rivers including the Brahmaputra,Teesta,Dharla and Dudkumar receded slightly but flood situation unchanged.
Deputy Director of Kurigram DAE BiplabKmarMohanto told this correspondent that a total of 145 hectares of land are inundated by flood water. Of them,some 25 hectares of vegetables,20 hectares of seedlings and 100 hectares of jute fields.
The embankment which damaged at Nageswariupazilaand inundated the crop lands could not be estimated till now.
NageswariupazilaNirbahi Officer FarjanaJahan told that I am visiting on the spot of flood at Nageswariupazila. The portion of embankment which damaged is being repaired.
Around 12000 people are marooned in the diatrict. The people of char areas are the worst sufferers. Many flood victims took shelter on the boats and other high lands. Scarcity of pure drinking water is prevailing there as a good number of tube wells have gone under flood water.Fodder crisis is also acute as vast tract of lands are inundated.
WDB officials said water level of the rivers are flowing below danger level.
