Five killed, injured 40 in Rat Jattra from electrocution in Bogura

At least five hindu devotees and injured 40 in a Rat Jattra from electrocution at Sheujari area in Bogura on Wednesday evening.
The deceased devotees were identified as Alok, Atoshy, Noresh, Ronjita, Jolly Rani.
Witness and police said that the Roth Jattra was started from Iskon Anondo Asram at Sheujari area and after reaching at Amtola more area and meanwhile, the top of Roth Vehicle touched the high voltage electricity wire and injured at  least 100 devotees.
After the accident, they were immediately admitted at Mohammad Ali Hospital, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital and other locations and the five died in the hospitals under treatment.
The people and relatives of the injured devotees started souting for help and crying for treatment.
Hearing the news, the members of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and resqued them and rushed to the hospitals.
DC of Bogura Md. Saiful Islam, SP of Bogura Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty and civil surgeon Dr. Shafiul Azam rushed to the spot and looking after the treatment of the injured devotees.
SP Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty said that the injured have been given utmost treatment in those hospitals.
