A man and his daughter were killed as cement loaded truck hit into their house while they were having dinner.

The deceased were identified as day-labourer Shah Babu, 37, and his daughter Brishti Khatun, 12.

The accident took place around 9:30 pm on Friday in Bhitapara area of ​​Santhia upazila in Pabna.

Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Santhia police station Md Asaduzzaman said a truck loaded with cement was heading towards Baghabari in Sirajganj from Nagarbari at the time of the incident. On the way, the truck driver lost steering  and crashed into a tin house on the side of the road in Bhitapara area.

Day labourer Shah Babu and his wife and children were having dinner at that time. Shah Babu and his daughter Brishti died on the spot when the truck fell into the house. However, his wife Lucky Khatun and son Sagar survived for a short time.

Police and fire brigade members reached the spot and recovered the bodies after receiving the news.  The driver and his accomplice of the truck fled immediately after the accident. However, the truck was seized.
