The elected persons of three women reserve seat of nine upazilas in KurigramZilaParishad election are Masuda Daizy of word no-1(Bhurungamari,Nageswari and Phulbariupazila)of deer symbol received 193 votes, Sheuly Begum of word no-2(KurigramSadar,Ulipur and Rajarharupazila) received 289(deer symbol) and Armin Nahar of word no 3(Chilmari,Roumari and Rajibpurupazila) received 97 votes(Football symbol).

The elected general members of nine upazlas are Zohir Uddin of Bhurungamariupazila,EkramulHaque Bulbul of Nageswariupazila,Monowara Begum of Phulbariupazila,Minhajul Islam Aiyub of KurigramSadarupazila,EnamulHaque of Rajarhatupazila,Jewel of Ulipurupazila,JaminulHaque of Chilmariupazila,Harunur Rashid of Roumariupazila and Sohel Sarkar of Rajibpurupazila.

The vote receiving was going on continuously from 9.00am to 2.00pm peacefullyyesterday (October 17).

District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Resaul Karim said at total of 46 persons were contesting in nine words. Of them, 36 are in general member and 10 women for women Reserve seat.

Earlier Alhaj Md. Jafar Ali (former MP) from Awami League has been elected chairman as uncontested.

A total of 1013 voters of UP chairmen,members,Mayors, councilors,upazila chairmen and vice chairmen of 73 unions,three municipalities and 9 upazilaparishads have been exercised their voting rights.

District Election Officer and Assistant returning Officer Jahangir Alam said votes have been received by EVM system at nine center in nine upazilas peacefully. District Election Commission arranged for all necessary measures including Law and Order situation for smooth voting activities.
