A discussion meeting with huge crowd on the 48th martyred anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was arranged by Bogura district information office at Bamonpara High School premise under sadar upazila in Bogura on Tuesday noon.
The discussion named the determination of the prime minister focusing the dream of father of the nation Bangabandhu to make Bangladesh as a “Sonar Bangla”.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of sadar upazila Firoza Parvin presided over the function while Member of Parliament (MP) of Bogura-6 constituency Ragebul Ahsan Ripu was present as the chief guest.
The Chief guest said that father of the nation was very talented and brave from his early stage of life and he used to stay beside the destitute people and he did not take shelter on falsehood in his life.
He dreamt of making Bangladesh as Sonar Bangla and finally he sacrificed his life for the sake of the country and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina shouldered the responsibility to come his dream true and Bangladesh is going ahead with the dream of Bangabandhu, added the Chief Guest.
Welcome speech was delivered by Senior Information Officer of Bogura Mohammad Mahfuzar Rahman.
Special guests in the gathering were Sadar upazila chairman Abu Sufian Safique, Upazila Education Officer Golam Mahbub Morshed, Safety Food Officer, Bogura, Md. Rassel, Noogola union Chairman Rafiqul Islam, Headmaster of Bamonpara High School Md. Abdul Majed and others.
In the gathering, at least 600 freedom fighters, noted personalities, heads of different educational institutions, journalists, political figures, invited guests, guardians, and students were simultaneously present.
