Country representative of Swiss Red Cross (SRC) Paul Drossue passed busy times through visiting different activities of Joint actions for mitigating climate uncertainties and natural adversities (JAMUNA) project being implemented by Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) in Sirajganj, Bogura, Gaibandha and Kurigram districts in last four days till March 19.
Country representative Paul Drossuevisited the activitiesof the project in Sadarupazila of Sirajganjupazilaon March 16, in Sariakandiupazila of Bogura district on March 17, in the unit office of Gaibandha Red Crescent Society on March 18 and chars of Kurigram district on March 19.
During the visits, the country representative witnessed the rural development activities including installation of early warning system in the community level, installation of disaster risk reduction tube-well, making woman led nutrition house, tree plantation program at house hold level, installation of hygienic latrine at house hold level, women entrepreneurships development in the char level, infrastructural development of community clinic and holding meeting with different communities of the project command areas of the districts.
Health inspectors, assistant health inspectors and community health care providers of government offices briefed the country representative about their on-going health relating activities for the people of project command areas. Community people led by union parishad member and chairmen welcomed him at their respective unions and exchanged views with him on different welfare issues on how to make the project fruitful in the command areas.
Sanjib Biswas Sanjoy, deputy country representative of Swiss Red Cross and Mohammad Jasim Uddin Kabir, program manager of BDRCS and field level staff of the project including project coordinator Amal Kumar Pramanik, senior field officer Md. KhurshidAlam and unit level officers accompanied him during his visits.
