Construction work of 10-storey Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall for students of Rajshahi University has been inaugurated.
The construction work of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall was inaugurated by unveiling a plaque in front of the Mother Box Hall of the university at 11 am on Sunday. AHM Khairuzzaman Liton. After the inauguration, the mayor inspected the design and location of the hall.
According to the university authorities, a 10-storey Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall is being constructed at a cost of Taka 60 crore 20 lakh 90 thousand under the project titled ‘Physical Infrastructure Development (1st Amendment)’ of Rajshahi University. The Ministry of Education is the enterprising ministry of the project.
Implementing agencies are University Grants Commission and Rajshahi University. Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall will have a total of 482 rooms for students. Each room of the hall can accommodate a total of 964 students in two seats. The hall will have 36 house tutors and office rooms. There will be 6 state-of-the-art lifts and other modern facilities. Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall is the first 10 storey residential hall of Rajshahi University.
Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof. Golam Sabbir Sattar Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chowdhury Md. Zakaria, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Senior officials of various administrations including Sultan-ul Islam, local Awami League leaders and Rajshahi University Chhatra League leaders were present during the inauguration.
It may be mentioned that the foundation stone of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall was laid on September 29, 2016 by His Excellency President Md. Abdul Hamid.
