College girl’s hanging body found after she was stalked, beaten

Police recovered the hanging body of a college girl on Tuesday noon after she was stalked and beaten by some youths in Beraupazila of Pabna.

The victim, SushmitaKhatun, 18, is a student of Bera Government College.

Sushmita’s body was found hanging from ceiling fan in her bedroom at their house of Moitrabadha area mullah in Bera municipality area.

Her father JaidulHossian is a tea-stall vendor.

Sushmita’s friends and classmates said that she had friendship with a youth named Ashik but discontinued communication with him three months ago as she came to know that Ashikstudent of the same college and son of MohammdMinu of village Sonatala in Santhiaupazilawas involved in different criminal activities.

Ashik started stalking Sushmita as she avoided him.

Sushmita and two of her friends were on their way to collage on Tuesday morning when Ashik stopped her and forcibly picked her up on a rickshaw.

Sushmita was beaten and abandoned in front of the college a few hours later.She alleged that Ashik had beaten her.

Sushmita then returned to home and locked her room from inside.

The family broke open the door after about an hour as she was not responding to their calls and found her body hanging from the ceiling.

Beramodel police station officer-in-charge Asaduzzaman said that they were yet to receive any complaint, but raids were on to catch the accused Ashik.
