Police have arrested a man allegedly for raping a 4-year-old child of Singrapara village of Bishalpur union on Sunday noon (February20) under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The arrested is Mozahar Ali Moza (55) son of Mofiz Uddin of the same village of the upazila.
The victim’s grandmother has filed a case with Sherpur Police Station in this connection.
According to the case sources, the parents of the victim left the four-year-old child with her grandmother and went to work in Dhaka city.Her grandmother went to work in the pepper field with the baby on Sunday morning.
Around noon, the child left for home alone.On the way, Mozahar Ali Moza of the same village tempted the child to buy biscuits and took her to his house.The child was raped when no one was at home at that time. Later,when the people came forward to hearing the scream of the child, the rapist managed to escape. The child was later rescued in a bloody condition and taken to a local government hospital.
Sherpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam said police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.The raped child was being treated and a case has been registered under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act in Sherpur Police Station in this regard.
