A child drowned in a pond while visiting his aunt’s house in Tanore, Rajshahi. The accident took place at 10 am on Monday (May 18) in Manikkanya area of ​​the upazila.

The name of the dead child is Mahi Khatun (3). She is the daughter of Mainul Islam of Baje Chanduria area of ​​Tanore upazila. The matter has been confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tanore Police Station Kamruzzaman Mia.
According to the locals, Shishu Mahi went with her parents to visit her aunt’s house in Manikkanya area of ​​the same upazila. In the morning he goes to the house to play with the other children. At one stage of the game, he fell into the water of a pond next to the house and drowned.

Mahi was rescued from the pond by the people of the area and taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot.
