Bus helper stabbed to death by passenger in Pabna

A helper of Dhaka-Pabna coach was stabbed to death over picking up passenger another place. The stabbing incident happened at Pabna central bus terminal on Monday morning.

The deceased helper Jubair Rahman,25, son of Jahidur Rahman a residence of GachparaKhanpara village in Pabna Sadar upazila. This incident happened with the supervisor and passengers of MachrangaParibahan of Dhaka-Pabna route on Sunday night. Injured supervisor of the bus Jakir Hossain Sumon, said that the bus of MachrangaParibahan, operating on the Dhaka-Pabna route, left for Pabna from Gabtali bus stand area at around 11.15pm on Sunday.

When the bus stopped at Chandura area and picked up passengers, the passenger Maruf Hossain Shuvo refused to pick up passengers. At one stage of the argument, the passenger Shuvo slapped the bus supervisor. At that time, the bus workers slapped the passenger (Shuvo). Then Shubo threatened the bus supervisor that he will check him when he goes to Pabna.

When the bus arrived at Pabna Central Bus Terminal around 5 am on Monday, the passenger Maruf Hossain Shuvo pulled out a knife and attacked the bus supervisor and helper. At that time, bus helper Jubair Rahman and supervisor Jakir Hossain Sumon were injured by his stabbing.

On their screams, the other workers of the bus terminal caught   Shubo and beating up him later handed over to police and took the two injured to Pabna General Hospital. The doctor on duty declared bus helper Jubair Rahman dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna police station Roshan Ali confirmed the matter of the incident and said that the police immediately visited the spot and arrested the accused with a knife. The arresting Maruf Hossain Shuvo,40, son of Jiaur Rahman a residence of Arifpur area in Sadar Upazila.

The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem. The OC said that a murder case has been registered against the murderer Maruf Hossain Shubo with Pabna police station.
