BSTI has fined three companies Tk 13,000 for operating a mobile court at Charghat in Rajshahi.

The operation was carried out in Charghat Upazila with the coordination of Rajshahi Divisional Office on Wednesday morning.

During the operation, two companies named Messrs. Bhai Mistanna Bhandar and Raj Mistanna Bhandar of Charghat and a company called Israel Variety Store were fined a total of Tk 13,000.

The operation was conducted by the wise Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Niyati Rani Kairi and Md. Sharif Hossain and Field Officer (CM) of BSTI Rajshahi Divisional Office, and Abul Qayem, Inspector (MET).

Md. Sharif Hossain and Field Officer (CM) of BSTI Rajshahi Divisional Office said that two companies named Bhai Bhai Mistanna Bhandar and Raj Mistanna Bhandar were preparing food items in dirty environment and selling fermented milk (yoghurt) products in low weight without BSTI approval. They have also been fined for selling and stockpiling banned skin cream products from an organization called Israel Variety Store.

He further added that the owners of the establishments were warned that if they were found guilty of such offenses in the future, strict legal action would be taken against them.
