Bogura DC Goldcup Football Tournament Inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner

With the fervour of making Smart Bangladesh by saying ‘No’ to the Narcotics”, The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Goldcup Football tournament was inaugurated by the divisional commissioner of Rajshahi division GSM Jaforullah ndc at Bir Muktijoddhaya Momotaj Uddin Stadium in Bogura on Friday at 5 pm.

District Sports Association (DSA) of Bogura district arranged the tournament where 12 upazila football teams will be expected to participate in the tournament and the tournament was kicked off with opening match between Adamdighi and Shajahanpur upazila teams.

Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi division GSM Jaforullah ndc said that it is a matter of admiration taking the youth to the fields for different games from the domain of addiction and hopeful of successful spreading the games in the root-level areas of the district.

The tournament will be held at four stadiums of the district: Bir Muktijoddhaya Momotaj Uddin Stadium in Bogura town, Shantahar Stadium in Adamdighi upazila, Sheikh Russel Stadium in Sonatola upazila and Demajani Shaheed Mokhlesur Rahman School Playground in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura district.

Foreign players will hopefully take part in the tournament and in the opening day, two Nigerian players participated in the game. The final match will be held in the same venue on July 31 instant.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bogura Md. Saiful Islam presided over the inauguration programme while Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bogura district police Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty bpm, ppm, Chairman of District Parishad Dr. Mokbul Hossain and General Secretary of DSA, Bogura Masudur Rahman Milon were present as the special guests.

Other invited guests were Deputy Director of Local Government, Bogura district administration, Masum Ali Beg, ADC (Revenue) Nilufa Yesmin, ADM Afsana Yesmin and the Upazila Chairmans and UNOs of 12 upazilas and other valued persons of the district.
