More than two hundred extreme poor and helpless people have received Bashundhara Shuvoshango’s Eid gift on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in Adamdighi of Bogura .
The gift share and lungi were distributed at ‘Sakher Palli’ recreation center in Bashipur village of Santahar Paur town of the upazila at 11 am on Friday.
The adviser of Bashundhara Shuvoshango and the proprietor of Sakher pally, a gorgeous tourist spot in the country, Freedom fighter Engineer Nazrul Islam provided financial support.
Adamdighi upazila correspondent of Kaler Kantha Tarikul Islam Jentu, President of Executive Committee Aminul Islam Sumon, Organizing Secretary Shakila Akhtar, Literary and Cultural Secretary Arafat Rahman Johnny and others were present during the distribution of gifts.
After receiving the Eid gifts, 65-year-old widows Ajiron Bewa, Furtun, Jamila, Marina and Hamida Bewa said, “It is their dream to buy new clothes every Eid where there is a shortage of food.” “Therefore, they were thinking that this time Eid should be done in old clothes.” They added.
Meanwhile, 70-year-old blind Hafez Azahar Ali received the clothes and said that he was happy to get a lungi for himself and a sharee for his wife as Eid gifts.
Freedom fighter engineer Nazrul Islam said, “What a smile on their faces when they got new clothes! It seemed that their smile was like the moon of Eid.” Such work will continue in the coming days.” He added.
