Baishakhi storm kills farmer and also caused extensive damage to various crops including boro paddy and mango in Bogura on early Wednesday.

The deceased is identified as Rezaul Hossain (45) son of late Eshar Uddin of Bhatgram in Nandigram upazila.

Kamruzzaman, a member of Bhatgram union of the upazila, said that Rezaul and his wife were working in the backyard of the house when it started raining in the early hours of the night.

At that time, a thick branch of horseradish tree flew in the storm and fell on Rezaul’s head. He was seriously injured. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
